Here's a simple and quick way to perk up some clay pots.
We used about 1/4 cup of Annie Sloan Old White, then mixed it with a couple tablespoons of baby powder to give the paint some texture. While the paint is drying, look through the Graphics Fairy website to find a great graphic you could transfer onto it. Here's the process:

1. Trim a piece of wax paper to 8 1/2 x 11 inches
2. The paper should be fed into your printer so that the "dull" side of the paper gets the ink.
3. Size your graphic on a word document to fit your pot and PRINT!
then . . .
4. Be ready to hightail it from the printer to your painted clay pot because you want to use a credit card or tongue depressor to press the graphic right onto the pot while the ink is still wet.

I don't have any Annie Sloane paint - do you think you could tint gesso and perhaps thicken it and do the same transfer technique with the waxed paper? Great craft!!! Thanks. Love your blog!
If you don't have Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, I'd try using flat latex mixed with some powder or Plaster of Paris to give it texture and thickness. I bet that would work too. Good luck - hope it works for you!

That's great! Do you think it would transfer w/o the paint and say on metal? I have some retro canisters that need some zip and that seems like a good way to do it. Great way to perk some clay pots up too. Thanks, Jenn

This is with an ink jet printer, I'm assuming?
Yes, we used an inkjet printer. I want to try letting the ink dry on the wax paper to see if it will still transfer. I'm thinking it probably won't, but it's worth a shot. It seems that the graphics would be clearer if the transfer could dry first, therefore eliminating smudging of wet ink. We'll see!

I live in Australia and we can no longer buy waxed paper ( just greaseproof - that has no wax).
Can you suggest another method
I have tried the tap paper - But it was not very successful on the pots.
