One of my favorite impressionists is Edward Henry Potthast (1857-1927) He worked as a lithographer until he was 35 years old, then spent the rest of his life doing beautiful impressionistic paintings of families at the beach and in Central Park.
In my sketchbook today, a quick-sketch of his painting, "Ring Around The Rosy".
So. Destination this week? Chicago! To see this and other paintings at:
The Terra Foundation For American Art, Chicago, IL
